RESPONDING to news that Denbighshire council has fitted microchips to thousands of wheelie bins, North Wales AM Brynle Williams said:  

“I am deeply worried that the council has decided to go down this route and install these chips.  

“I believe that government should be there to serve the people, not spy on them.  

“It’s all very well for the council to say that it’s not monitoring them right now, but their actions speak for themselves.  

“I am concerned that the council appears to have made its decision before the public have been consulted on any future ‘pay-as-you-throw’ scheme.”
