Awareness Needed on Dog Dangers PDF Print E-mail

BRYNLE Williams AM, today called for greater awareness among the dog-walking public of the dangers posed by taking the animals onto farmland.  Mr Williams, the Welsh Conservative Assembly Member for North Wales and Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs, said: 

“The fine weather will be drawing out more visitors to enjoy Wales’ beautiful countryside in the coming weeks. 

“But members of the public need to remember that many footpaths will take them across working farms and that special care must be taken with their dogs.

Win-Win for Hospital Local Procurement PDF Print E-mail

BRYNLE Williams, Welsh Conservative Assembly Member for North Wales, has today written to Health Minister Edwina Hart to support local procurement practices that have saved one NHS trust £6million.  Mr Williams said: 

“For the last seven years I have struggled to get the Assembly Government to take local procurement by the NHS seriously. 

“Nottingham University Hospital Trust has finally dispelled the myth that local food means a bigger bill for taxpayers.

Welsh Conservatives have welcomed the Rural Affairs Minister’s decision to extend the Tir Mynydd scheme. Commenting on the decision which will see the continuation of Tir Mynydd payments at 60% for a further 2 years, Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs Brynle Williams AM said: 

 

“I welcome the Minister’s confirmation of these arrangements. I am relieved that she listened to the concerns raised by both AMs and the agricultural industry.

SPEAKING in his own debate on animal welfare prosecutions in the Assembly, Brynle Williams, Welsh Conservative Assembly Member for North Wales and Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs, said: 

As a society, we have little tolerance for those who neglect animals or treat them with cruelty. 

“But the cost of funding prosecutions for large welfare cases is discouraging councils from pursuing offenders.

BRYNLE Williams, Assembly Member for North Wales, today challenged the Assembly Government to put to an end the longstanding delays and congestion on the A55.  Mr Williams, who has frequently raised the issue in the Assembly, said: 

“With the Easter weekend coming up, North Wales needs free-flowing traffic on the A55. 

“Instead, motorists using the main route across the region face yet more delays due to what seem to be never-ending roadworks.
